Proving David Cavanagh Wrong

By ctrebble on March 27, 2011 in proving David Cavanagh wrong

Hi,
Proving David Cavanagh Wrong 150x150 Proving David Cavanagh WrongMy name is Catherine Trebble, and today (27th March 2011) I’m on Day 10 of David Cavanagh’s Best Coaching Program in Pattaya, Thailand.

This morning we were doing our overview of some of what we’ve covered on the course, and what our intentions are for our businesses when we return home.
I proudly stated mine.  It went like this -:

“I’m only going to return to Pattaya for the course on the 22nd of July IF I’ve made $40’000.  Otherwise I’m not coming back”.

I need to explain a little about myself here.  I always have great intentions, but I often don’t follow through with them, and I needed to proclaim to the class my intention to hopefully give me some momentum to go forward.

David looked at me and said to me “You’re going to fail, I know you will”.

In that instant I wanted to cry.  I felt enraged, slighted, offended, but also more challenged than I’ve ever felt.  With my chin wobbling I shot to my feet and squared up to him.  I didn’t way a word, but inside I was seething, full of anger.  All these feelings weren’t because of what David Cavanagh had said, it was because I knew that unfortunately there was a pretty good chance he would be right.

The truth is I don’t have much in the bank to show for all that I do, yet I have always been told I’m really talented.  My problem?  I don’t follow through, I get distracted by the next new “bright shiny thing”, and I abandon what I have been working on.

Not any more David Cavanagh, I’m going to show you!

This blog will now be my online diary of how I prove David Cavanagh wrong, what I’m doing as I go along, and how I achieve my goal. Bookmark this page and follow me on my journey.

Please comment below with your messages of encouragement and support, and let me know what you think of how I’m doing proving David Cavanagh wrong.

Thanks!

Catherine

At David Cavanagh’s Thailand Internet training you don’t just learn from David and the other speakers on-stage.  Here’s what I learnt from some of my classmates…

The sun decided to shine just after I started recording, so sorry I’m a bit ‘squinty’…

Questions from Sanjiv about David Cavanagh Internet Coaching…

By ctrebble on August 18, 2011 in proving David Cavanagh wrong

I’m back two weeks now from David Cavanagh’s Best Coaching Program in Thailand, and wouldn’t you know it – I got challenged again!  I’ve been too busy putting money-making strategies into practice to blog about it, but I’ll be making a video this weekend on what I learnt at the last David Cavanagh gig at the weekend, plus details of my latest challenge (gulp!)

In the meantime here’s a video of a conversation my good friend Sanjiv Gurram and I had when we were at the David Cavanagh Internet Coaching Workshop last month. Sanjiv asks me some thought-provoking questions on how I achieved my last challenge. Sorry there’s some background noise..

Game Over David Cavanagh…

By ctrebble on June 20, 2011 in proving David Cavanagh wrong

My birthday isn’t officially until tomorrow, but today I got the prezzies…

david cavanagh coaching wolfgang hofbauer 148x150 Game Over David Cavanagh...Wolfgang’s words were loud in my ears after our coaching call last week.  Between us we had worked up the perfect sales letter to lease out or sell one of my websites.  Stamps were attached and letters were sent.  Result?  Nothing.  And there’s the problem.  People are tired of seeing us turn up with the same old – same old.

Wolfgang sagely suggested I work on coming up with an approach that would stand out from the crowd – that would grab their attention.  Wolfie was great – I think he sensed I was feeling a bit battered with all that was going on, so he pointed out all my skills, and demanded to know why I thought I needed coaching, because he considered I didn’t.  What a sweetie!  Did it work?  Heck yes, I’m such a push-over…

On Friday I sent out a simple 3 line email using basic NLP techniques.
1. Pattern Interrupt – I made a bold statement giving them information they didn’t know.
2. I told them what I had that would be of interest to them.
3.  I pointed out how it would make them a heap of money.

I sent this simple 3 line email to 5 people I’ve been trying to get past the gate-keepers to, and within an hour I had spoken to three of them.

Game Over David Cavanagh...And this morning it happened.

I had an appointment with the first business owner, and after two hours I left with a purchase order for 5 of my websites for €20’000 (about $28’500).  But there’s more icon smile Game Over David Cavanagh... They want me to redesign their current website and make 10 satellite opt-in sites for them, and then SEO the heck out of them.  That will probably be worth at least €50’000 in the next 6 months.

I tried to act cool when I was leaving the building, but I wasn’t walking – I was floating…  Then as I was walking up the road I got a ‘phone call.  A personal trainer had been given my number and wants me to do a website for him and do the SEO work.

You know that exercise where you design your dream day?  Well today was my ‘work’ dream day.

David Cavanagh, the challenge is now officially over, and I’m a month ahead of schedule.  A lot can change in 24 hours… I’m definitely back to Thailand next month.

Post Note: I owe a debt of gratitude not only to David for challenging me in the first place, and turning my work life around to where is is now. Only a short 3 months after I left Thailand I have achieved (exceeded) my target of making $40k using my internet marketing skills.   That has been hugely due to the fact that David left me in the capable hands of Wolfgang Hofbauer, who in my humble opinion has to be the best 1-2-1 coach ever!  Wolfie didn’t give me all the answers, because that’s not his job.  With what he said to me last week he enabled me to come up with the solution to my own problem – and THAT is far more empowering than being handed any answer on a plate.  Thank you David and thank you Wolfgang from the bottom of my heart.

When The Sky Falls In…

By ctrebble on May 26, 2011 in proving David Cavanagh wrong

When The Sky Falls In...Tomorrow my offline business ceases to exist, and along with it goes my current livelihood.

Long story short – I had to sack someone a few months back for doing something really bad.  I was assured by my advisers at the time that because what they did to get the sack was so bad (believe me it was), no court in the land would rule in their favor if they tried to come back at me.  Well, this ‘person’ found a legal loop-hole, the courts found against me and because of that, as of today I no longer have that business.

Lucky for me David Cavanagh challenged me back in March.  And because I’ve been working hard on developing my new business ever since, and I already have a few clients bringing me in some income, I am now in a FAR better position than I would have been without David Cavanagh’s challenge.  I’m really nervous now, I feel like I’m flying without a safety net, but at the same time I feel more free than I have felt in years.

What David Cavanagh Said About Being An Author

By ctrebble on May 5, 2011 in proving David Cavanagh wrong

David Cavanagh Workshop Thailand 150x150 What David Cavanagh Said About Being An AuthorI’m getting to love my little book more and more… What David Cavanagh said at the Internet marketing workshop in Thailand is so right, being the author of your own book is the ULTIMATE business card, and people look at you so differently, like you are the expert you really are…

Today I met up with the sales rep. for one of the products we use in my day job.  I had been telling her about what I was doing with marketing the last time I met her, and she called back today with the marketing manager for their product in Ireland and the U.K. to meet me.  Why?  Because the last time she was in I gave her a copy of my book.

Result of today’s meeting?  There were two… Continue reading →
